No Lack

"Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. " Acts 4:32-35

I really have a vision for this passage being fulfilled in our church. I believe that there are so many needs among us that we can meet if we only knew. Since the beginning of interns, I really wanted to create a type of "provision board" where people would post needs and things they were giving away. So if I needed some street shoes that were size 7, someone else who is cleaning out their closet could see that need and give some shoes to me instead of to the salvation army. Or if I had a whole bunch of size 1 jeans that didn't fit me anymore, I could post that on the board and there might be someone who needs them, or knows someone that needs them. Like what if you made friends with some high schooler while street evangelizing at Mira Mesa and she wore size 1 jeans and you c0uld totally bless her with a whole bag of nice jeans? That would be super cool.

So yeah...that is crazy. And I think I will put this into action by posting a few needs...
1. Our refrigerator is too big for our new house. Anyone want to trade or have an old one in the garage?
2. I really do need some daily, comfortable street shoes. (size 7)
3. I also need some nice black flats. I'm so over being uncomfortable because I'm wearing something nice.
4. A small boom box with a CD player for my room.

And a few things I have to offer...
1. My old prom dress. Size small, lavender, spaghetti straps, knee length.
2. A bag of cloths. Some are too small for me (like size 1 jeans), and some are too big for me (someone else gave me them to look through).
3. A pair of brand new Vans. Size 7, white. They are too small. Don't try shoes on without socks.

A new day

Today I did something I have never done before. I organized the clothes in my closet. I usually just hang them in there wherever. This is a big step for me and I believe it is an outward sign of spiritual change within me. I put all the tank tops together, all the t-shirts together, all the long sleeves together...ect. I did NOT go as far as color coordinate them. No no no. I'm not that changed yet. haha. Here's the survey...do you organize the clothes in your closet and do you color coordinate them? I believe you can learn a lot about a person through their closet. :)

I also reffed my last high school soccer game this afternoon. The regular season ends this week so unless I get some playoff games I'm done! I had a great time doing high school. What a blessing of a job.
